Tribute, game, and sensory joy.

Nucli Trio is partly one more branch of the
fertile and inexhaustible tree of music from David, Aleix and Guillem,
expressed as a unit of three musicians without protagonisms or hierarchies and
in total synchrony. True to the style and the enthusiasm that has brought them
here, this new breath of air comes after a couple of years touring and
performing. By the time songs have grown enough the trio decides to lock
themselves at Soiart studios in Badalona to record these delicious pieces of
jewelry sounds the old-fashioned way, in a single session, live, capturing all
the freshness of their speech and conveying the sensual warmth of their
unmistakable sound. It´s mostly about original creations from the trio itself,
with the addition of some covers from their most beloved ones such as Sam
Rivers, Marco Mezquida or Carla Bley.

Aleix Forts, despite his youth, already accumulates considerable
experience, in part alongside Guillem himself in Monk electric band or in David
Viñolas Trio, with whom has established a solid and fertile rhythmic bond.
Graduated at “Conservatori superior del Liceu de Barcelona”, he
studied with Horacio Fumero, David Mengual, Masa Kamaguchi or Crostoph Rahn
among others, and worked on projects such as Robert Nesta songs by Adrià Plana,
Avantbrass, Retina or the Alfons Bertran 5tet ETC.

Guillem Plana is another young value from the Barcelona Music Workshop
that has been part of different bands like Funkystep & The Sey sisters,
Guillem Roma & Camping Band Orquestra, Gorg Trio, The Gramophone Allstars
Big band or Joana Serrat. In 2014 he released “Monk Electric Band” as
an eclectic tribute to the master Thelonious Monk and in 2019 he releases his
first solo album with his own compositions, “Projecta Astrolabi”, an
eclectic ode to the cosmos with a jazz fusion flavor, which has been very well
received.

David Viñolas, has the longest career, being the most experienced among
these three musicians. Born blind, David breathes music from head to toe and
has worked and studied alongside Toni Pagès, Marcelo Valente, Javier
Feierstein, Marc Miralta, José Reinoso, Jo Krause, Marko Djordjevic, Calixto
Oviedo; and Ernesto Simpson, Johny Almendra and Jeff Ballard during his stay in
New York in 2004. He has also developed many projects with musicians such as
Sergi Sirvent, Roberto García, Omar González, Santi Careta, Joao Balao, Adrià
Plana, Joana Serrat, Raül Reverter, Feliu Ventura, La Cava Big band directed by
Marc Vernis, Dijous paella, Dúmbala canalla, Funkystep & the Sey Sisters,
Col·lectiu soroll and many more. A career so far culminated with different
projects such as David Viñolas Trio (saxophone/bass/drums), and his overflowing
melodies and polyrhythmias, live poetry recital with swing, groove, and free
jazz forms. David Viñolas Cuban Trio, with a very personal island hot rhythms
point of view. Sirvent & Viñolas and his solo performances where he
displays his inexhaustible curiosity and inventiveness in all its splendor…
