A mixture of soul, jazz, hip hop and electronic music in the first CD of POETIC BABIES

Feb 06, 2010

in 2003, Mikel  Andonegi started developing his most important project,  Poetic Babies, with the crucial help of John Roggie.

The newly published Record Adding Strangeness to your sense of beauty since 1998  is a mixture of traditions and different genres of music heard along the way as an artist.

In the future, Mikel Andonegi has a strong intention to continue on both fronts: a jazz pianist as well as with musical mix of “Poetic Babies” – stitching together the sounds and words of soul, hip-hop, jazz and techno.

It’s all clear in this CD.

Mikel played keyboard in 1985 in the second record by the group, M-ak, titled “Emeak eta Arrak” in the Basque Country. After the taping of several other demos that were unsuccessful, in 1988 he participated in the Jazz Festival in Donostia and gave a solo piano concert. In 1989, Mikel travelled to New York to begin an adventure that would last for 16 years.  Once there, he formed a group called Lovehead, with the singer, J Dilla X and found himself with many admirers.
