Jon Urrutia
The young basque pianist formed his first trio next to Sebastian Gastine, double bass, and Joe Quitzque in the year 1996 during his studies in Paris. These three boys were the trio who used to play in the shows of the "La goutte d'or" club. Afterwards, the trio would be formed by musicians from many different parts of the world as for example: Francisco Mela (drms), Peer weborys, Oscar Stagnaro, John Sullivan (dbs), Craig Polasko (dbs), Guillermo Delgado (dbs), David Mengual, Victor Celda, Tato Gracia, Julio Andrade...
At present the quartet is formed by Jon Urrutia, pianist, Toño Miguel, double bass (Zaragoza 1978), Borja Barrueta drummer (Bilbao 1974) and Santi Ibarretxe, saxs and flute. Musicians who live in Madrid and who have collaborated with distinguished veterans of the jazz scene.
