**ASSTRÍO the musicians**

Arecio Smith ......... Hammond organ
Santi Serratosa..... drums
Santi Careta ......... guitar

The members of this trio are all young musicians living in Barcelona who, over recent years, have played in many of the best clubs on the peninsular, including Jamboree, Harlem Jazz Club, La Bilbaina Jazz Club (Bilbao), the Vitoria-Gasteiz and San Sebastian Jazz Festivals, Black Music Festival, La Jazz Cava in Terrassa, the Ciutat Vella de Barcelona Jazz Festival, L’Hora del Jazz (Memorial TeteMontoliu) and the Arteca Club (Ibiza), among others.

SANTI CARETA really makes the six strings on his guitar work, while casting a sideways glance at Grant Green. This work has nothing in common with his contribution to the namesake album Ballcock (Fresh Sound, 2004), by the snipers of free-jazz-rock. In addition to collaborating with other young up-and-coming Catalonian jazz musicians (such as Sergi Sirvent), he also has his own group (Santi Careta Group).

SANTI SERRATOSA regularly co-operates with the WTF All Stars in the prestigious jam sessions of the Jamboree, a true breeding ground for fresh new talents (Llibert Fortuny, Andreu Zaragoza, etc.) and is also a member of Groove Station, a funk-jazz septet in which he shares stage with Arecio Smith.

ARECIO GONZALEZ SMITH has a large number of high-quality projects under his belt, which makes him a true expert in vintage keyboards: Asian Food Store, The Groovy Dudes, La Fundación Tony Manero, La Kinky Beat, Groove Station, etc. His passion for black music and his crazy groove only serve to enhance his enormous talents as a pianist, talents that threaten to explode at any moment.
